7 of 9...

Or, where does your motivation come from?

If you've been following along for very long, you've seen my weight creep up over the past year to what amounts to the largest that I have ever been. Normally, I can see the big picture- In the grand scheme of things, I'm not that big. I can still run, and run well when I do the training. (Although, if I were doing the training, the weight wouldn't be an issue).

The real problem I have is getting my lazy butt out of bed to do my running in the mornings. After work isn't really an option for me, as I have found over the years. I can workout in the evenings for the short term, but this can't be a long term solution for me.

Now, to find some helpful motivation...

I've watched some Star Trek in my day, but it has certainly been a lot of years, and I never really got into the Voyager series much at all.

About a year ago, one of the maintenance techs at work told me that he thought I looked like "7 of 9" from the Voyager series of Star Trek. Yeah, right, whatever... But, I don't really know who this is.

He asked me a few times after that if I had a chance to google and find "7 of 9", so I knew exactly what he was telling me. Let me interject: this guy is known to not be a creep.

Last night, a conversation with a friend made me think of this and I got on Google and found this "7 of 9" character. She is played by the actress Jeri Ryan, and is on many websites as one of the "hottest women on Star Trek".

Hot women on Star Trek? Who knew?

Anyhow, here's the photos, her and me:

Twins, no?

OK. I'm blonde and I have full lips. I'll give him that. But, I don't see me wearing that skin tight jumpsuit. Nope, not right now.

Believe it or not, this has helped me with my motivation.
I think,
"Wow! Somebody thinks I'm hot!"
"Wow! I could BE that hot!"

Let's hope it sticks this time. So far, in spite of an initially reported loss, I've gained it back and I'm at 0 pounds lost for Viv's Independence Day Weight Loss Challenge.

But, I'll get back there. My plan is not to post a gain for the next official WI.

I just got into a gown I have not worn since 1977!
how I've stayed the same size is
wear tight levis .. to bed if need be.
they cut into me and remind me
not to eat so much.
NEVER BY 'FAT CLOTHES'
If you can't get into your clothes
you won't be able to get to the store for food {it works

I think my motivation for running comes from not ever wanting to have to start running again...but that's not really what you're asking...

You do look like 7 of 9!

Oh yeah, Star Trek has had lots of Hot Women (and men...if you're into that sorta thing)

I totally see it!! Ha ha- I love the random celeb resemblances.

I wish I had some wise words for you, but I'm struggling with motivation myself right now. I keep thinking about the good runs that I've had, and to remember how much I love running (and working out in general), and it helps a little, but some days I just can't do it. But pulling out yet another pair of jeans that are too tight to wear in public definitely helps.

I love Anonymous' philosophy- if you can't get into your clothes, you can't get to the store to buy food. LOL. I imagine myself raiding my cupboards, eating anything I can find, until eventually there's nothing left and I starve to the point where I'm thin enough to put something on to get out of the house... not a pretty thought. Ha ha.

I actually used to do that! Maybe there's something to it.
I'm now wearing "fat pants". Grrr!
I'm getting rid of them as soon as I can.

I can remember one year after Thanksgiving, I had to kick it in gear for the next 3 days just so I could go to work on Monday... I'm not allowed to wear sweats to work!
