Hump Day Blah's

Remember when I said that a friend from work was going to start calling me in the mornings to make sure we both got in a workout?

Yeah, well, she wimped out.

I had to recruit another friend. She is not a morning person, either- but she is one of those freaks that gets up when the alarm goes off no matter what. She said she doesn't want to talk in the mornings, but she has been texting me every morning to get up and at 'em.

Yesterday, I blew her off.

This morning, I managed to drag my tail out of bed and get out for a 4.5 mile run:

Distance: 4.51 miles
Pace: 10:19/mile
Average HR: 154 bpm

Yay!

I had ulterior motives- we had some important guests at work today, a couple of senior VP's. I did NOT want to be late this morning! And, I also did NOT want to still be coming out of my sleep stupor during the 8am meeting. So, a run was a nice way to get me up and wake me up.

In other news...
Tomorrow night is the last 7th grade football game of the year (short season, huh?). After that, maybe I'll learn that there's more to life than work and hauling kids to practices...

I'll keep you posted!

Great job getting out there. It's so hard to drag yourself out of bed sometimes (ok, most of the time).

I'm so impressed... I need to start getting up earlier to run too...

Sorry about your friend. I'd call ya, but by the time I get up, I think you're having your mid-morning break in the midwest :-)

I'm a morning person, and I would totally volunteer to call you, but since I'm in the Mtn time zone, it would probably be too late for you.

But great job on getting out there for a run (even if it's ulterior motives). I always say, "it doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to be a 'W'." Usually this is in reference to other sports teams, but I guess it could apply to running or working out, too. It doesn't have to be the best performance, but if you're getting out there, it's a Win.
